Hèita, quatre vins confidentiels issus d'un terroir du Piémont pyrénéen.
C’est une carte jaunie par le temps qui fut la source de notre inspiration. Un petit carré de vignes soigneusement dessiné à l’encre de chine en 1816. Son nom : Moncaut.
2003. Premiers pas sur la colline, première poignée de graviers, premiers regards sur les montagnes Pyrénées, assis au pied du vieux chêne…
L'étude de terroir est enthousiasmante : la terre est superbe, l'exposition parfaite, la pente idéale.
L’aventure commence. Mais tout reste à construire…
2005 voit les premières plantations. Cinq cépages se côtoient sur cette terre qui verra s'écrire notre histoire de vignerons. Des vignerons sans à priori, avides de savoir et de découvertes.
Savoir si la Syrah aime la chaleur de ce coteau ensoleillé des Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

Juin 2006. La première taille avec vue sur les montagnes enneigées est passée. Les premiers bourgeons du printemps aussi.
La plantation se poursuit et la collection de cépages avec laquelle nous allons composer s’enrichit. Tannat, Petit Verdot, Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng et Sauvignon gris trouvent aussi leur place sur le coteau du Moncaut.
2007, année exigeante mais pleine de bonnes surprises, voit nos premiers vins. Ils se nomment "Hèita". "Hèita" pour "histoire". "Hèita" pour "aventure". Une aventure béarnaise, mais une aventure résolument ouverte sur le monde...
The source of our inspiration came from the discovery of an old, yellowed map. A small square of vineyard had been carefully drawn with India ink in 1816. And its name… Moncaut.
2003. Our first steps on the hill, our first time holding the earth in our hands, staring at the Pyrenees Mountains, seated at the foot of an old oak-tree…
Studying the local terroir was fascinating: the soil was superb, the exposure was perfect and the slope was ideal.
Our story began. Still, there was so much to do…
2005. We began to plant. With 5 grape varieties we began our adventure as wine producers... We had no preconceptions, were eager to learn and discover.

2006- June. We pruned the vines in the winter with a view of the snow-covered mountains. Spring brought the vine’s first buds. Planting resumed and we continued to enrich our collection of varieties: Tannat, Petit Verdot, Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng and Sauvignon Gris.
2007. A demanding year full of good surprises, our first vintage, and our first wines: "Hèita". "Hèita" meaning "history" and "adventure". This is an adventure born in the Bearn region, yet resolutely open to the world.
